SEAFOREST is an innovative solution for cultivating seaweed forests in the ocean and enhancing habitats in marine environments. Inspired by bladderwrack, which is known for its stability and strength in challenging marine environments, SEAFOREST is made of solid wood types such as ash and wintergreen. It is a floating module with bladder-shaped perforations containing solar lamps in transparent acrylic panels, creating an impressive lighting experience while also having a navigational effect. Underneath the floating element, liners with seaweed are established, forming a seaweed forest. Seaweed forests have several beneficial effects on marine environments and life, including reducing wave impact and protecting coastlines, providing breeding grounds for fish, and absorbing CO2 and harmful substances from the water to improve water quality. SEAFOREST can be used for harvest and will help protect the marine environment in coastal areas in an artistic and sustainable way, based on the natural forms of the sea.
